Often, we say that history repeats itself but these words in the world of Tech is not expected at all. But now things are changing as we witness the return of folding phones; and I am not talking about the Galaxy Fold.
Although this phone is from Samsung too but this has things more rightly done. The Galaxy Z Flip is vertically folding phone which was launched by Samsung in February 2020. In contrast to the Moto Razr, this phone is superior in almost every field such as camera, specs, price, battery, build quality.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is powered by the SD 855+ processor, Adreno 640 (700 MHz) and has 3300 mAh battery. It has a 6.7-inch Foldable Dynamic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2636 pixels (~425 ppi density) and 82.5% screen-to-body ratio. It also has wireless charging support. The phone consists of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage and it has no external microSD card support.
The Galaxy Z Flip is in direct competition with the Moto Razr because both are very much similar. But here we think that Samsung will be winning the game because of its brand value and also the Z Flip is cheaper than the Moto one, even though it has a better processor than the Moto. The Moto has an edge and that is outer display is a bigger one, much bigger than Samsung’s and also it has more features.
The Z Flip can be considered the 2nd Generation of folding phones from Samsung and this time Samsung has checked almost all boxes of a good folding device. The previous was the Galaxy Fold which was a fail for Samsung in many ways. The phone was costly and most importantly, it was unreliable. But with the Z Flip, Samsung has turned the tables and proved that its advancement is smartphone technology.
All in all, the Galaxy Z Flip is a good folding smartphone and it is much better than the Moto Razr. Although huge improvements are needed in this folding technology to make it more reliable.
