Samsung is following the path of Xiaomi and Realme and is filling its line-up by launching hundreds of smartphones. Instead of making one complete smartphone in every segment, they are doing the same mistake as Xiaomi and Realme. This makes things very confusing for the customers and the company too to maintain its line-up to provide updates. But you don’t need to worry about your updates because if you get a budget Samsung device then, you probably won’t get major updates. Leave budget devices, even the flagship S and Note series also get delayed updates. A few days back, Samsung launched the Galaxy A31 and today the company launched A21s.
Specs and Features
The Galaxy A31 features Samsung’s so-called “glasstic” back, which is basically plastic or polycarbonate, but Samsung markets it as glass. It’s the same thing as present in A31 and other M series devices. There is also the physical fingerprint scanner on the rear, along with the rectangular camera module just like the S20 series.
The screen is a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 720 x 1600 resolution. Yes, you heard it right, it’s an HD+ LCD display and no AMOLED with Full-HD+ resolution. This is a big downgrade over the AMOLED display found aboard its predecessor and it’s a huge bummer in this price segment. The device runs on OneUI 2.0 based on Android 10.
Galaxy A21 is powered by Samsung’s in-houseExynos 850 chipset that has been designed for mid-range phones. The device has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.
The device has a quad-camera array at the back, 48MP (f/2.0) primary sensor, 8MP (f/2.2), 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro lens. The front camera is 13MP (f/2.2) snapper present in the punch-hole cutout at the top left of the screen.
Samsung has packed a 5,000mAh battery inside the device and the box contains a 15W fast-charger. The device has 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v5.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac on the connectivity side of things.
Price and Availability
Galaxy A21s starts at Rs. 16,499 for the base variant of 4GB+64GB. The higher 6GB+64GB variant costs Rs. 18,499 in India. The phone will be available exclusively via Flipkart, Samsung’s online store, and offline retail stores starting today.
